Our Undergraduate Programs offer the foundational coursework necessary to begin your career in pharmacy. Pre-pharmacy students at UofSC gain a head start on building a personal network of pharmacy professionals and the skills to prepare for the Pharm.D. admissions process.

Our esteemed Doctor of Pharmacy program builds on a more than 150-year history of educating pharmacists. Our graduates excel in the profession, as evidenced by graduating student statistics, employment rates, and continued placement in top-ranked residency programs.

Our Graduate Programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences focus on the discovery, development, production, and outcomes of new drug therapies. Graduates are prepared for a variety of career choices from teaching and research at academic institutions to roles in pharmaceutical industry, sales, regulation, consultation, and more.


Undergraduate Degree

Our Pre-Pharmacy Program at UofSC is a two-year program including courses in life sciences, mathematics, social sciences, and liberal arts which provides students a foundation for the Pharm.D. professional degree. The Pharm.D. application process begins between the first and second year of the pre-pharmacy program.

B Optional B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Pre-pharmacy majors can opt to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences as they work toward their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) at UofSC. The bachelor's degree is awarded at the end of the second professional year of pharmacy school.

Graduate Degrees

D  Doctor of Pharmacy 

The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) Program is a four‑year professional degree program which includes classroom instruction and hands-on learning through introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences.

 

D  Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Graduate students at the UofSC College of Pharmacy are exposed to interdisciplinary training and education in pursuit of an advanced degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. There are two tracks within the Pharmaceutical Sciences Doctorate Program:

  • Pharmacy Administration
  • Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences
