The Department of Management's mission is to identify how organizations can more effectively attract, develop and retain talent to drive business performance, innovation, inclusion and entrepreneurial activity.

What to Expect

Students in the Darla Moore School of Business who wish to major in management may choose from a concentration in human resources or a concentration in entrepreneurship. The program is designed to help students develop competencies and skills relevant across a broad range of organizational roles, as well as roles specifically involving human resources or entrepreneurship. Note that entrepreneurship requires a double-major in a different area of business.

 

Undergraduate Degree

The Darla Moore School of Business has received numerous top academic and research rankings over the past several years. Undergraduates in the Moore School are able to specialize in one of nine programs of study: accounting, business economics, finance, risk management and insurance, international business, management, management science, marketing and real estate.

B B.S in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) with a Major in Management

The following courses fulfill some of the requirements for a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in management:

Human Resources and Organizational Leadership Track:

  • Management of Human Resources
  • Negotiation and Conflict in the Workplace
  • Leadership in Organizations
  • Pay, Rewards and Motivation
  • Staffing

Entrepreneurship Track (requires students to double-major in another business discipline):

  • Entrepreneurship and Small Business
  • Developing and Launching New Ventures
  • Executing Strategy in New Ventures Credits
  • Advanced Issues in Entrepreneurship
