What to Expect

English is for everyone. Whatever your dreams or career aspirations, an English major provides you with adaptable skills for a changing world: the skills of reading carefully, communicating clearly and thinking creatively about issues that matter to you. Our majors choose English not just for a love of reading and writing, but also to be equipped for careers that value critical and creative thinking, writing and the communication of complex ideas.

This program, offered by the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Library and Information Science, culminates in a Master of Arts in English and a Master of Library and Information Science.
