Family Weekend

Spend an unforgettable weekend with your Carolina family enjoying fellowship, football and so much more!

Family Weekend is open to all families as it is the perfect way to get to know the Carolina community better. While you're in town, spend time learning all our thriving hometown — Columbia, South Carolina — has to offer, visit our historic USC campus and meet fellow family members and students. 

Traditionally, this event includes educational sessions, receptions, and a spectacular football tailgate prior to watching the Gamecocks play!

Family Weekend 2023 online registration will open 10 a.m. (EDT) on July 11 and close 4 p.m. (EDT) on September 1. Set a reminder to register and purchase your wristbands for an unforgettable weekend with your Carolina family!

Family Weekend Signature Events

Entertainment, food and beverages are provided at three key events for those who purchase a Family Weekend wristband in advance. Many additional events are hosted around campus throughout the weekend and free to attend.

    A fun Friday night Family Weekend tradition! Join us for food and drinks while we dance to the rockin’ sounds of the Reggie Sullivan Band.

President Meet & Greet

Stop by the President’s Meet and Greet to say hello to President Michael Amiridis and First Lady Ero Aggelopoulou-Amiridis, as they officially welcome you to Family Weekend! Visit the beautiful historic Horseshoe while enjoying a few hors d’oeuvres at this drop-in event.

Family Weekend Tailgate Party

Get excited for the football game at this traditional, Southern tailgate party! Visit with Cocky, Cocky’s parents and the cheerleaders, and listen to live music from the Carolina Marching Band. Enjoy tailgate food like barbecue, hot dogs, chicken fingers and more!

Important Dates

While most Family Weekend events are open to all, registration is required to attend our signature events. Please note the registration deadline as there will be no late registrations or on-site ticket sales available for signature events.

  • July 11

    Online registration opens on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 10 a.m. EDT.

  • September 1

    Online registration closes on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at 4 p.m. EDT.

  • September 22

    Join us Fri.-Sat., Sept. 22-23, 2023 for Family Weekend!
